Do I need to have experience with drama and performance to join a workshop?
Backbone’s workshops are open to all levels of experience unless stated otherwise. Occasionally Backbone hosts special projects that require a particular skill or level of previous experience, in which case we will let you know.

Who facilitates the workshops?
Backbone workshops are facilitated by industry professionals including actors, playwrights and directors. Visit our People page to meet some of the workshop facilitators.

What are Backbone’s workshop age groups?
Backbone works with people aged between 9 and 26. Workshop groups flow from 9 – 12 years, 13 – 15 years, 15 – 17 years, 16 – 18 years and 18 – 26 years.

I’m only 8 but I’m turning 9 very soon, can I join a workshop?
There is some flexibility within Backbone’s age groups. If you are ready to move up to the next age group phone the office on (07) 3210 2666 to discuss your options.

How many people participate in each workshop?
Backbone workshops are capped at 14 participants so as to ensure personal attention to the student’s development.

How much do workshops cost?
